Lifestyle, Beauty and Fashion thoughts...

Hi everybody! Sorry for being a bit quiet over the last few weeks, have been super busy and not had the time to blog!

But it's now getting into my favourite time of the year. I absolutely love Autumn/Winter time, I'm one of those people that you probably hate that get's excited about Halloween/Christmas/all seasonal festivities, kind of about... Well, in January.

I just love everything about it, I love the fashion, the cosiness, all the colours, the dark nights and I absolutely love the different makeup looks that you can create!

So, that's what I'm going to talk to you about today. I'm going to show you a step by step of how I create my "everyday/easy to wear" Autumnal makeup look. It's a pretty subtle Autumn look and pretty easy to wear, it's all about the eye makeup on this one. I just think the eyeshadow colours are beautiful and totally remind me of Autumn.

A little side note though, I took all of these photographs in natural lighting and it was a tad unpredictable so some of the photos are a little bit darker/lighter than others, just in case you think it looks a bit whacky. There are also a lot of pictures here but it's the best way for me to represent how each stage is achieved, so please bare with me.

Below are the links to all the products used on my face throughout this post.

Vichy Dermablend Corrective Foundation in "15-Opal"
L'Oreal Paris Infallible Matte Foundation in "11-Vanilla"
Rimmel Lasting Finish Concealer
Rimmel Wake me Up Concealer
Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre in "25- Peche Clair"
Rimmel Natural Bronzing Powder
Revlon Highlighting Palette
M.A.C Cosmetics Mineralize Skinfinish in "Soft & Gentle"

So, firstly I started with a clean, moisturised face. I then used two foundations as my base, firstly my Vichy Dermablend. I love this foundation as it gives a really great coverage, ideal for me as I have quite problematic skin. I find its a really buildable foundation. I then used my L'Oreal Paris Infallible Matte foundation across my T-zone and chin to help prevent these places becoming shiny throughout the day.

I blended both of these in using the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge and just blended the makeup onto my skin.

This is my face with just the Vichy foundation, as you can see it gives a really great, solid base and a really nice glow.

I've then just added a little more coverage to my t-zone with the L'Oreal to cover up my more problematic areas and make them a little more matte.

I then put my eyebrows in(I know they need threaded), if you would like to know how I create my eyebrow look then click here.

Next up I applied my eyeshadows. This is a list of all the products which were used on the eyes.

M.A.C Cosmetics Eye Shadows in "Honey Lust" and "Sketch"
The Body Shop Colour Crush Eye Shadows in "Melt my Heart" and "Caramel Flirt"
M.A.C Cosmetics Eye Kohl in "Teddy"
Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara in "Very Black"

I started off by using "Melt my Heart" and "Honey Lust" all over my lid and blended it up into my crease, which just creates a really nice golden base for the look.

I then took "Caramel Flirt" and blended that across the crease and towards the outer corner of the eye, making sure everything was blended nicely using a clean fluffy brush.

I then blended a tiny bit of "Sketch" lightly into the outer corner also, just to enhance the colours and create a little more depth and a slightly smokey effect.

Instead of always using a liquid/gel eyeliner, I sometimes like to use an eyeshadow with an angled brush to create a softer look. Here I have used "Sketch" again, but this time I have used the angled brush to create a soft flick from the centre of the eye upwards. After creating the flick I just pushed some more shadow into the liner to create an even stronger colour.

You don't have to go with the liner, but I think it creates a nice shape for the eye and gives you a little bit more definition.

I then finished off the rest of my base blending the "Lasting Finish" concealer under the eye area, along with the "Wake Me Up" concealer, around the corners of my nose and on any blemishes that I may have. To set the makeup I sweep the loose across my t-zone, chin and anywhere else that tends to become oily throughout the day.

After this, I used my bronzer in the hollows of my cheeks, temples, jawline and down the nose to give my face some shape and a slight contour(I could not properly contour everyday, anyone who has time for that- I applaud you!). I then push my highlighter across the tops of my cheekbones, down the centre of my nose, across my cupid's bow, brow bones and inner corners of my eyes. Then just a light dusting of blush across the apples of my cheeks.

After the base was finished, I went back to finish of my eyes. using my used blending brush I swept it underneath my eye then use my angle brush to join the underneath to the flick I have created. Then I used my eye pencil softly below the waterline and blended it in, to make my eyes look bigger but still give a soft look so it doesn't look too "done". Then added on lashings of mascara(if you're not a mascara addict like me, then just add a little, it's up to you).

To finish off the look, on my lips I used,

M.A.C Cosmetics Lipstick in "Velvet Teddy" and Rimmel Kate Lipstick in "03".

I'm aware that this isn't the usual kind of autumnal colours you would expect for the lip, but, I think these are great colours to mix for an everyday look because it still gives you that deeper lip colour but it a lot more subtle than most lipsticks that tend to used in autumn and are definitely easier to wear.

I mix the two because I love Velvet Teddy but, I find it can look quite orange(purely because I am so unbelievably pale!), so I use the Kate Moss lipstick to soften it a little, also the kate moss lipstick is quite moisturising and balances out the mattifying velvet teddy without making the lips look glossy.

And there you have it! My everyday Autumn makeup look. I think this is great look for anyone and would suit pretty much all skin tones, you may just need to adapt it slightly if you have a darker skin tone(just apply the darker colours on the eyes slightly heavier and perhaps for for a slightly darker lip colour, or just Velvet Teddy on it's own!). This is a really easy look to wear everyday, as it still manages to incorporate Autumnal colours,  but it isn't as severe as most of the really deep, severe colours that surround the makeup world at this time of year!
I hope you like this look and try it out for yourself!

Congratulations for making it to the end and thank you!
Let me know if you liked the look and have any questions about the products used or if you try it out for yourself!
Love,

The last week was a pretty busy one for me, I was working a lot plus my work finally had their Christmas 2014 night out(yep, you read that right! That would be for LAST YEAR!) and didn't really have the chance to blog.

So this week I have decided to just post a few pictures of what I got up to in my spare time!

First up are the only two acceptable photographs from the staff night out! We went to a place called The Tiki Bar and Kitsch Inn and it was amazing! If you live in Glasgow or are ever visiting, you have to try this place out!
It's a kind of Caribbean/Exotic Island themed rum bar downstairs that is just awesome and has some amazing drinks, cocktails and pretty cool bar staff(I'm not sure if he's still there but I was in a while back and there was a guy with a crazy cool moustache!).
Upstairs is The Kitsch Inn and the food is unbelievable! It is so reasonably priced and it just tastes amazing! The guy serving us knew his stuff, was more than happy to help and just gave us a great night out, I cannot recommend this place enough! I have been craving the food ever since, It's mainly Thai food and like I said, if you are in Glasgow you should definitely give this place a go!

The drink below is a Brugal Anejo and Ting and it is soooo good! The drink is served in this open top chilled can, it is the coldest and most refreshing drink. It's just so yum! I've never had a bad drink in this place and if you love rum(like myself), or you love getting drinks served in cute glassware(you know you do!) it's the place to be!

This is my friend James and I after a few Brugal and Ting's, he is clearly loving life! I am too, I'm just clearly taking this photographic opportunity a lot more serious!

I then worked the rest of the week and miraculously got a weekend off work and decided on the Friday night I would be true to my wild self and have a nice relaxing night, light some nice candles and plan some blog posts for the upcoming seasons. See, I will be prepared!
I then cosied up with a Disney film(shock horror, it was Cinderella).
Bliss.

With my Saturday night off I spent the evening with my little mumsy!
We stayed in the West End and went for dinner and then to Booly Mardy's for the best Bloody Mary's you will find in Glasgow! This is another place you should head to if you are ever in Glasgow town! You should really head to the West End in general, it's just a great place to be and there are a million cool things to see and do!

On Sunday I decided that I should really get back on the wagon when it comes to exercise(it's been too long to say) and I actually really enjoyed it. When it comes to exercising, going to the gym has never really worked for me. I start with great intentions and then about 2 weeks in I give up. I've found that going out for runs, going out on my bike and also using YouTube  are the things that work he best for me. I actually really enjoy it when I get into it and I find exercising and home keeps me dedicated for some reason. I been using videos by Lucy Wyndham--Read and I felt the burn from day 1. Her videos are really easy to follow and if you are the same as me when it comes to exercise I would suggest you give her a try!

Lastly, I was headed back up to the West End with my friend James for drinks and couldn't start the night without a little Sunday selfie! I really enjoyed this makeup look for relaxed drinks with friends, so naturally I had to document it! I'm thinking of doing a little post for this makeup look, so keep an eye out!

I hope you enjoyed this little post and I promise I will have a more substantial post up next time! thanks for reading!

Love,

I cannot believe that it is actually time for my August favourites already!!

Where has the summer gone?! I feel like I blinked and missed it!

Summer is over and it's now time to welcome in the darker evenings, the autumn chill and berry coloured lipsticks!
But just before we do this, I'm going to round up my favourite things from the month of August!

This month is definitely a random mix of everything. As the month went I by so fast, I feel I can't even remember it beginning, so it's not the lengthiest list, but I hope you enjoy it anyway!

First up is what has to be one of the best mascaras I have tried for a very long time! It's the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara which I used in my last blog post.

If you have shorter eyelashes, then this mascara could give you the long lashes you desire! I can't believe how dramatic it makes my lashes look and every time I have used it, someone has either asked me if I'm wearing false lashes or which mascara I have on. Even my mum didn't believe me when I said I wasn't wearing falsies!
It's just a really great product and it also really easy to take off... I would almost compare it to Benefit They're Real Mascara(without the nightmare effort to remove it at the end of the day!). It's super lengthening and it does an ok job of giving a little volume boost. I would definitely recommend trying this bad boy out!

Next up is my new Topshop nail polish in "Caught Your Eye".

I am really loving Topshop Beauty at the moment. I just think it's really good quality for the price! Everything I have bought from the range I have absolutely loved. And this nail polish is no different. It was really quick drying and only took a few coats to get a really strong colour. I've had loads of compliment from it and it's a really nice, fresh colour. I'm getting as much use out of it just now while it's still appropriate(it's definitely more of a summer colour!). I'm very happy with this purchase! I will definitely be spending more time trying out the Topshop range!

My next favourite I only bought a few days ago, but I'm absolutely in love with it! I picked this up from Home Bargains(of all places).

It's a plastic makeup organiser and it's probably the best £5 I have ever spent! I can't find a link for this, but I think you can get ones similar on the internet. This has totally changed my morning makeup routine!! It is so much simpler now because everything I use on a daily basis is just there for me to use and I can find everything so much easier! If you are like myself and have a crazy amount of makeup, I would highly recommend investing in a few of these, they are perfect!

The next favourite is quite a random one, and you will probably think I'm really weird, but hear me out! It's the Cien Cotton pads from Lidl.

I know, now you think I'm weird. But these are genuinely the best cotton pads I have ever used! They are thick enough that you don't use too much product on them, they don't fall apart at all and they don't go all that soggy/horrible way when you are taking off your makeup. Another bonus to them not falling apart is that when you are taking off your mascara they don't catch in it, giving your eyelashes a santa beard!
So, if you are ever near a Lidl, go in for these! That's all I buy from there and it's totally worth the trek to one!

My last kind of physical favourite are these little copper tealight holders which are also from Home Bargains.

I'm not sure if they are available in them all but they are only 89p each which I think is an absolute steal! They are super cute and look really nice! Plus, they are copper so who wouldn't love them! I am very happy with this little purchase!

Now onto the more random favourites!

First up is The Great British Bake Off! I am so glad this is back in my life! I love this programme a little too much! If I haven't caught up on it, I wont let anyone talk to me about it. Last year I found out who had won before I got a chance to watch it and I'm still upset about it! I don't know how anyone could dislike this show! You learn so much and get so many baking tips! Plus, Mary Berry- need I say more?! If you can get this, you should 100% watch it, who knew baking could be so intense?

Next up is an app which I have loved for a very long time but had forgotten about it. It's from the website calm.com and it's basically a relaxation/meditation app.

It's all about just taking a few minutes out of your day to relax and rest your mind. I know a lot of people are slightly sceptical about meditation and think that it's just hippies with flowers in there hair that believe in it, but i really is a powerful thing. I wish I used this app more religiously because I feel a huge difference in my mental state when I do.I wouldn't say I suffer from extreme anxiety but I do go through anxious periods(which can range from days to weeks o months)where I really struggle to deal with things, I can't sleep or feel at peace and I find using this app every day really helps me to put things into perspective and help me deal with situations. I recommend this to everyone because I really think everyone could benefit from it. I think it's important to not only look after your physical health but also your mental health and this really does help. Please give it a try, especially if you suffer from any kind of anxiety, I think it could really help out.

Last up is probably my ultimate favourite for this month! Disney's live action Cinderella has just been released on DVD and Blu-Ray and if you haven't seen then you need to get on that RIGHT NOW!

I fell absolutely head-over-heels in love with this when I went to see it in the cinema! I think it is just perfect! Lily James is just absolutely stunning! She is the perfect Cinderella and Richard Madden is the perfect Prince Charming or "Kit". This is just the perfect Disney film that I can just lose myself in and enter the fluffy world of Disney!
All the Cinderalla photographs do not belong to me, I found them on Google Images and the photo credits go to fanpop.com and wayfaringwriter.com and all rights for the film go to Disney of course.

I cannot describe my love for it! Its fast becoming one of my favourite Disney films(which is a very bold statement)! If the live action Beauty and the Beast(my favourite movie of all time!) is anywhere near as good as this I will be one happy bunny!
My favourite scene is when Ella and Kit are dancing and she says,
"everyone is looking at you"
and Kit says to her,
"Believe me, they are all looking at you"
It is just perfect!!!
The film has such a lovely message, it just gives you all the perfect Disney feels, about being yourself and to
 "Have courage and be kind".

So that's it for my August favourites! I hope you enjoyed them! Let me know all the things you've been loving this month, or if any of my favourites were the same as yours. And here's to a wonderful September! I hope it's a wonderful month for all of you! I'm so excited for Autumn!!

Love,
